Adam Guttell plays Superman to bring you the world

Out of the Studios

We are fortunate enough to have a campus like Brandeis where there's always a speaker, a special event, a sporting competition, or in some cases, all of the above simultaneously. I am excited and elated to spend my second year at WBRS running the Special Productions Department, for just this reason. It is the responsibility of the Special Productions Department to bring these events to the airwaves.

This year our line-up begins with the biggest event of the fall semester, Brandeis Orientation '95. All of the incoming first year sudents, sitting in hot cars, waiting in T-lot, will be accosted by red-shirted, microphone weilding people: WBRS' crack Orientation '95 team. And these lucky first years get to see first hand the working of the SPuD, or Special Productions Department. Our show of force should be enough to entice some first years into joining the ranks of SPuD allowing us to showcase the upcoming events of the year with even more splendor and greater strength. One of the larger events of the fall (second only to Orientatin '95) will be our coverage of the Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge. Hopefully, with the cooperation of the Brandeis crew team, we will be able to provide very special, in depth coverage.

Throughout the year we will be able to bring the community every speaker and event fit to hear. If all goes as planned, we will also be bringing interesting people from events around the greater Boston area in as guests on our talk shows. With the renovation of our production studio, our capacity to produce high quality material and air live events is greater than it has ever been. From assaulting the new students on Opening Sunday, to waking at the crack of dawn to head out with the crew team, I look forward to serving the campus and the community with my wireless mic in hand and the frequency of WBRS in the air.
