Program Guide

Technology changes everyday. There are a lot of different ways to be on the cutting edge. James Feinberg explains how WBRS does all that behind the scenes stuff that most folks don't know about. Here's

Where We're At

in terms of hi-fi, stereophonic, technological . . . stuff

WBRS is always striving to improve to meet the needs of our listeners, this year more than ever. We've upgraded our phone system, replaced our transmitter, renovated our studios, and gone online!

Last March, WBRS finally received one of the first Genter TS-612 superhybrids. What's the big deal? This new system allows us to get callers on the air more easily and with higher quality, and, even better, it lets you, the caller, hear the broadcast over the phone. The days of talking on the phone and listening on the radio are over!

In the spring, we were granted final authorization from the FCC to upgrade our transmitter and continue operating at our higher power. WBRS is only the second radio station in the country to be granted this kind of dispensation. Those of you listening at this time last year will notice an incredible difference. And you new listeners, keep listening for even more improvements!

And if you come down to our studios in the Winer Wing, you won't be able to miss our new window -- between the Wing and Studio A. Now you can see in, and we can see out. What a beautiful concept! And when you look through the window, you can see our newly renovated studio. We've spent the summer rebuilding the furniture, replacing and repairing the equipment, and rewiring everything. Where will you see the difference? In our special productions, in our news shows, and most prominently in our live music. Things will go faster, and things will sound better.

Some might say we've done enough. But I don't think so. So there's more. WBRS has gone online. Check out our World Wide Web site for our program guides, the current live music schedule, pictures of the station, programming updates, and so much more! Just point your web browser of choice at http://www.wbrs.org and find what you're looking for.

The WBRS Technical Department. Doing what it takes to keep us on the air and sounding good, 365 days a year.
