The WBRS Spring Program
The entirely student run news department at WBRS has come a long way over the years. Years ago, an anchor would read newspaper stories over the air. "My, oh, my, how the times have changed."* Newstalk 90 is ready for the twenty-first century. Datebook, our daily half hour of news, has up-to-the minute satellite news wire service. Our team of reporters produce professional style feature and investigative stories about Brandeis.
We give you a summary of news ranging from who spoke on campus, to what President Clinton said in his latest press conference. Our national stories are accompanied by expert analysis from Brandeis University professors.
The talk hour begins with Arts Corner, which is our weekly entertainment update. Hosted by Arin Prisand, Arts Corner presents an hour of reviews, previews, and interviews every Monday (a feature on Arts Corner appears elsewhere in this program guide). Tuesday night brings Newstalk :90's hottest new show, Botton Up! Hosts Josh Block and Adam Guttel lead discussions and interviews on technology, politics, and society with a college spin. The world is changing and Bottom Up! is helping you along. On Campus, Newstalk :90's longest running talk show, comes every Wednesday night. Your host, Josh Berlin, interviews Brandeis administrators and gets the answers to your call-in questions. Sportsnight Conversations wraps up our Newstalk :90 programming week every Thursday night as we interview local Boston sports personalities. This year the WBRS news department has its highest number of personnel ever. We are even expanding into morning news with regular news updates on Breakfast Serial, WBRS's new wake up show. We have a news staff hungry for the latest scoop and we produce our show with pride. If it's news, we'll bring it to you. 6:30 to 8 pm, Monday through Thursday, Newstalk 90: is your only up to the minute news source.
